Our commitment
Compass Group Romania, which operates www.compassgroup.ro, believes the internet should be available to everyone. We are working to make the site usable for people with disabilities, older users, and anyone using a phone, a keyboard, a screen reader or other assistive technology.
The standard we follow
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, published by the W3C, which are the basis of the European standard EN 301 549.
In the European Union, the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) has applied since 28 June 2025; in Romania it was transposed by Law No. 232/2022 on the accessibility requirements applicable to products and services. We follow WCAG 2.1 AA for the whole site, whether or not a given page falls within the strict scope of that law.
For users in the United States, we use WCAG 2.1 AA as our benchmark for making the site accessible in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Conformance status
The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means that most content meets the standard, but some parts, listed under “Known limitations”, do not yet fully meet it.
What we have done
The accessibility menu
Every page has an accessibility button (in the top bar of inner pages, and at the edge of the screen on the home pages). It opens a menu where you can:
- enlarge the text up to 130%;
- switch to high contrast or to grayscale;
- highlight all links;
- switch to a plain, readable font and increase line spacing;
- stop animations and transitions;
- use a large mouse cursor;
- reset everything with one button.
Your settings are remembered on your device only, and the menu closes with the Escape key.
Built into the site
- Keyboard: links, buttons, menus and forms can be reached and used with the keyboard (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space, Escape), with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Structure: every page has one main heading, a logical order of headings, and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) that screen readers can jump between.
- Languages and direction: each page declares its language. Hebrew and Arabic pages are laid out right to left, and screen readers switch pronunciation accordingly.
- Text and zoom: body text is at least 18 pixels on phones, and pages can be enlarged to 200% in the browser without losing content or functionality.
- Contrast: light text on a dark background, designed to meet the AA contrast ratios.
- Touch: buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels on phones, and layouts adapt from small phones to large screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, animations, parallax effects and automatic scrolling are switched off or simplified.
- Images: informative images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms: every field has a label, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text and the field at fault is highlighted.
- Long documents, such as this one, have a table of contents, headings you can link to, and a print layout.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible. We are working on them:
- The 3D virtual tour uses interactive 3D graphics that cannot be fully operated by keyboard or described by screen readers. The same information (the villa types, plans, areas and the site plan) is available as text on the home page, and we are happy to go through it with you by phone or in a meeting.
- Embedded third-party services: the meeting calendar (Calendly), lead forms of our email-marketing provider (Smoove), where they appear, and the chat assistant window are supplied by third parties or loaded from separate systems, and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. You can always contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp instead.
- Videos: some videos, including the project film and embedded lessons, do not yet have captions or transcripts. The project film has no spoken narration.
- Floor plan files (PDF) are drawings and are not tagged for screen readers. We can describe the plans to you or send the areas as text.
- Articles imported from our previous website may contain images whose text alternatives are generic.
- The opening of the home pages is an animated, scroll-driven presentation. With reduced motion switched on, it is simplified; the same content is available in the text sections below it.
Other ways to get information
If any part of the site is hard for you to use, we will give you the information in another way: by phone, by email in an accessible format (for example large print or plain text), on WhatsApp, or in a meeting.

Accessible meetings
Meetings with our team take place on Zoom, by phone or in person, by appointment. Please tell us in advance about any accessibility needs, so that we can make sure the meeting place is accessible to you and arrange a suitable solution.
Feedback and contact
If you found an accessibility problem, or have a suggestion, please tell us. It helps us to know the page, what you were trying to do and which device, browser and assistive technology you were using.
We will reply as soon as possible and fix the problem or offer an alternative.
How we assessed the site
This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by Compass and its web team: automated checks, manual keyboard testing, and checks at phone, tablet and desktop widths (375, 768 and 1440 pixels) in current versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
